Product Details

Description

It was the ‘open wound Hiroshima’ which urged Luigi Nono to compose this work with the subtitle ‘Sul Ponte di Hiroshima’ in 1962. The composition consists of three very different sections based on texts by the philosopher Günther Anders and poems by Jesus Lopez Pacheco and Cesare Pavese. They are ‘… three current events – strongly depending on each other – which have inspired me to write these songs of ”life and love”. Love, not in the sense of denial or escape from reality, but in the conscious mind.’ (Luigi Nono)
