With the release of this compilation, Edition Zeitgenössische Musik, for the sixth time, provides a retrospective view of the productions of recent years. The present CD includes works by Gordon Kampe, Arnulf Herrmann, Jamilia Jazylbekova, Achim Bornhöft and many others. What is so special about the present sampler is that this edition offers the listeners again complete pieces without fade-ins and fade-outs.
Together with the CD, the introductory text, written for this release, provides an insight not only into one of the most comprehensive portrait series in the field of contemporary music, but also into the large variety of aesthetics and styles of male and female composers of our time. Collection 6 is therefore eminently suited as an introduction to or a means of insight into more recent releases of Edition Zeitgenössische Musik which meanwhile consists of a total of more than 80 CDs.
