Dirk Wietheger

Dirk Wietheger studied at the Music Conservatory in Detmold under Gotthard Popp and Karine Georgian, as well as at the Conservatory for Music and Theater in Hannover with Klaus Heitz. He went on to study with Xenia Jankovic in Würzburg. Since 1991, he has been performing as a soloist and chamber music player with an emphasis on contempor- ary repertoire. He joined Ensemble Musikfabrik in 2001, and performs at contemporary music festivals worldwide. He teaches in masterclasses and workshops, as well as at the Robert Schumann Conservatory in Düsseldorf and at the Music Conservatory in Detmold. He released a solo CD in 2004 with works from Sofia Gubaidulina, Leoš Janáček and Edvard Grieg.
