About Eddie Palmieri
Eddie Palmieri, born 1936 into a Puerto Rican family living in New York’s Spanish Harlem, grew up with Afro-American music. His musical trademark is his unusually percussive piano playing. Palmieri is regarded as one of the greatest living salsa bandleaders and an experimental Latin jazz pianist who was the very first latin jazz musician to receive a Grammy over 25 years ago. From the mid-70s onwards, he mixed salsa with rhythm ‘n’ blues, pop, rock, Spanish vocal elements and jazz improvisation. He was nominated for a second Grammy for the legendary "Sueño" album, which was produced by the musical director Kip Hanrahan.Products
