About Erika Le Roux

Erika le Roux studied in her home city of Johannesburg, South Africa with Barbara van Wijk, as well as with Adolph Haflis, Sofia Moshevich, and Pauline Nossel. She won prizes at the international piano competitions in Pretoria and Montevideo. In 1992, she was awarded UNESCO’s Grand Prix de la Ville de Dakar and was a finalist at the ARD competition in Munich in the piano duo category. In South Africa she appeared regularly as a soloist with all of the country’s symphony orchestras.
Erika Le Roux moved to Wiesbaden in 1994 and has established herself in Germany and Europe as a concert pianist, chamber musician, and recital accompanist. She has accompanied Yvonne Naef and Allan Evans, and has performed with soloists such as Eike Wilm Schulte (baritone), Nadine Se­cunde (soprano), Sue Patchell (soprano), Keith Ikaia-Purdy (tenor), and Stephan Picard (violin). Erika Le Roux has appeared with the Hessisches Staats­orchester in Wies­baden, the Staatsorchester Mainz, the Rheinland-Pfalz Staatsphilharmonie, and the Rheinland-Pfalz Youth Orchestra.
She has played in the Brucknerhalle in Linz, the Zurich Opera, and the Tonhalle in Lucerne, as well as at prominent festivals such as at the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Rheingau Festival, Rheinvokal, NDR Hanover, Villa Musica, and the International May Festival in Wiesbaden. Her concert series “Music at Midday” has become a popular Wiesbaden tradition.
