About Marilyn Mazur
The Denmark-based and classically trained percussionist was part of Miles Davis’ ensemble in the mid-80s. In the 90s, she was hired by Jan Gabarek amongst others for concerts and CD productions. Her own group Future Song is also made up of the trumpeter Nils Petter Molvaer and other established avant garde musicians such as the Croatian pianist Elvira Plenar and the American singer Aina Kemanis. Marilyn Mazur compares Future Song concerts with a labyrinth: “I choose a way in, but neither I nor the other musicians know where the performance will emerge at the end. Adventure and the unknown must be an aspect of our music.” This is the spirit of Future Song’s first studio recording released for Intuition – a groovy journey full of warmth and elementary energy.Products
