About Rudi Spring
Rudi Spring is from Lindau on Lake Constance. His most influential teacher for music theory, analysis, piano, and composition was Alfred Kuppelmayer. There followed chamber music studies with the cellist Heinrich Schiff, with whom he later performed and who encouraged the composition of a number of pieces. Rudi Spring has been active for many years as a conductor and church musician. At the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich, where he studied composition and piano, he has been a teacher of song interpretation since 1999. Numerous radio and CD recordings document his work as a chamber musician and accompanist; he also regularly performs as a soloist and in chanson and cabaret programs. In 2005, Spring was a fellow at the German Academy’s Villa Massimo in Rome.
