The tried and true Line-Up made up by Christoph Titz (tr), Werner Lauscher (bs), Marc Lehan (dr), Roland Peil (perc), Michel Bisceglia (keyb) and Dorretta A.C. Carter (voc) shows itself anew in top form on the Scetches' last studio album. Reinforced by Sebastian Steiner (keyb), Klaus Nießen and Courtney Davis (voc) the band lives up once again to its reputation of being impossible to categorize. Masterfully, Scetches blend the best of crunchy funk elements and massive DanceBeats with sensual Soul and cool Jazz to their very own melange, powerful and suave at the same time. This third release constitutes another step toward the friends of rhythmic movement: influences from the harder dance department should even manage to satisfy people who consider dancing a form of fitness training rather than a matter of grace [check the tracks ''Power To The People'' or ''Protones'' for evidence]. Those who like the going more relaxed are served well, too: Stylish grooves like ''Trinity Love Thing'', ''Good and Bad in One'' or the one of Charlie are sure to please, and the slowburning ''New Directions'' counts among the most turning-on things (based on silicone) available these days.
