For me, music has its origins in Shamanism. Shamans communicate with a world we cannot see in our daily lives through singing. Exstasis means to go beyond oneself, the desire to leave the order of ordinary life and depart from the ego. It is also the uncontrollable impulsive urge to sink into the murky depths of chaos.
