Emmanuel Siffert has been Principal Conductor of the Orquesta de Cámara de Chile since 2022 (Beethoven 7 formation, concert and opera repertoire), and is also Principal Guest Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Argen tina. He was Principal Conductor of the San Juan Symphony Orchestra (Ar gentina) (symphony, opera and ballet) for eight seasons, as well as of the Aguascalientes Symphony Orchestra (Mexico) (symphony and ballet) and Ballet Conductor at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Principal Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador, the European Chamber Opera in London, the Swiss Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra Sinfonica Aosta in Italy as well as Principal Guest Conductor of the Welsh Concert Orchestra in Cardiff.
Siffert studied violin in Salzburg with Sandor Végh and conducting with Horst Stein, Ralf Weikert, Joma Panula and Carlo Maria Giulini. From 1989 to 1994 he was a member of the Camerata Academica Salzburg. He has worked with the English National Ballet and the Royal Ballet Covent Garden. Various guest conducting engagements have taken him to Italy and to the opera houses in Nuremberg, Chi‚in1u, Lima, Volgograd and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
As a guest conductor, Emmanuel Siffert has worked with over 90 different orchestras, including the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Mozart Players, the Welsh National Opera Orchestra, the Saarbrücken Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Basel Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Nuremberg Philharmonic.
Emmanuel Siffert has taught conducting and "Opera Scenes for Singers" in various summer workshops, at the Wales International Academy of Voice and at the opera studio of the Teatro Colón. He is the author of the online conducting preparation method www.approachtoconducting.com.
