Taking a starting point of energetic music routed in the historical canon, Thomas Larcher strives to find new approaches to the concerto form in his new work, a particular challenge for a composer-pianist who is so familiar with the repertoire. Following 14 years after Böse Zellen, Larcher’s first piano concerto, this new work will be the second he has written for Semyon Bychkov to conduct.
